Seapine Golf Course

The Army Sports Center is located in "Baan Nong Kae" district in "Hua Hin" province. The golf course is located apporoximately 9 km. southward of Hua Hin province on Phetchakasem road. Formerly, this large area was owned by Royal Forest Department, but was taken over by the Royal Thai Army during the reign of General Sarit Thanarat.

The majority of the Suanson area is comprised of bracken pine trees and is enriched by the beauty of oceans and mountains. The army originallt developed the site as a from of retreat for serving soldiers and veterans and their families.

The Suanson course design and layout have been developed to provide golfers with a wide variety of challenge. Depending on wind conditions, the course can play from relatively easy to very difficult. The course is designed with six holes lying on the beachside and the lies towards the mountains divided by the railroad.

A modern CLUBHOUSE overlooking the golf of Thailand serves up some great Thai food. The municipal golf course is a good value.

At the Khao Takieb Terrace, you can enjoy variety kind of foods with great ingredients and garnish with delicacy, drinks from fresh fruits are to be served according to season, fine wine together with the panoramic landscape of beach, mountains and blue-sky

A dogleg par-5. Sixteenth hole will require the player to drive the ball straight onto a narrow fairway down the hill to avoid water hazard on right side. Players are looking down at the hole for their second shot with a panoramic view of the ocean and the mountains. The sixteenth may also be a risk/reward hole depending on the pin and shot placement. From the back tees, it's a three shot par-5 unless the player hits a perfect drive along the downhill fairway. The toughest part of this hole is the approach shot. A player has to decide whether to cut over the water/bunker onto the sloping green or take a safe route to the left side of the fairway

The seventeenth hole is a seemingly simple par-3 that will become more demanding when the wind comes into play. An exceptionally beautiful signature par-3 hole encomepasses a spectacular ocean view background. The tee shot is all carry over water and is comprised of a wide undulating green that is well protected by beach bunker in both front and back. Any shot missing long or shot will find the sand, so the rule here may be to attack the front pins but play to the center of the green otherwise. The seventeenth may shot placement. The unsteady wind is certainly a major obstacle for most golfers, as this hole is played over a large lake onto a peninsula green.

The finishing hole is one of the strongest and most challenging par-4's on the course. From the back tee, a canal is definitely in play as the tee shot must carry over 220 yards across the hazard to reach the fairway. A safe "lay-up" approach with a fairway wood is also an option for a solid par.
